We are Simon and Sue Williams. Between us, we've over 30 years of photography experience and have always had a passion for working with people and taking portraits to capture special moments, whilst also juggling our careers and raising our children.
We set up "The Portrait Guys" in 2022 in response to requests to photograph weddings, family friends, portraits, headshots, theatre and corporate events simply based on recommendations from people who had seen our work.
We love trying creative things and adapt to any given situation to try to bring out beauty or character in each shot.

We worked with Basingstoke Community Radio again to photograph the new DJs at the radio station. Rob Stevens was great to work with and we're proud of this portrait of him.
I converted a colour image to black and white to allow the viewer to focus on the character of this young lady, rather than on the clothes she was wearing. I hope you like it too.

Having been a trustee of 2403 (Aldermaston) Squadron Air Cadets in Tadley for the last 15 years, I was honoured to be asked to also take the updated portraits of the staff and trustees for the squadron's new website. This is Paul, the chair of trustees.
I even managed to set up my studio in their rather cramped equipment store.

We really enjoyed working with Lakiesha last week to create a fresh set of images for her new role as a personal trainer.
It was a great honour to be asked by a senior lawyer to provide updated headshots for his new website. We took several images including some environmental portraits with his clients to help promote his friendly approach.
It was a real privilege for me to meet Joel Grimes today at the Photography Show in London. He is a world renouned photographer and educator. I learned a lot from him, so you may see a new style of portraits from me in the coming months.

It was a privilege to work as a volunteer for @basingstokecameraclub Camera Club to support St Michael's Hospice in Basingstoke by taking photographs during their 2024 Firewalk. The event raised over £8000 towards the Hospice's funds. Lily,@fire_lily_666 who was working with the Charity Firework team, provided some of the fun entertainment before the fantastic fundraisers walked over the hot coals!
We had great fun with Rhiannon taking photos in a shopping centre after it had closed for the evening.
I was taking some free portraits for the public during a photography exhibition organised by @basingstokecameraclub when this cheeky chap arrived.
Monty had just been groomed and smelt wonderful. He loved posing and his owner is so pleased with the images we sent her.
Trying our hand at still life/product photography. We must admit that this was a fun shoot. This is also one of Simon's favourite beers, so he was happy clearing up afterwards!
We recently ran a portrait workshop with Basingstoke Camera Club and the Nupura School of Dance. This was a community event to provide the dance school with a fresh set of images of their students.
We were honoured to photograph the wedding of Kim and Malcolm in Hungerford. We had a great day and know that the Bride and Groom did too!

We had great fun with a local young couple who wanted us to capture some relaxed family portraits with their son. We travelled to their home with our portable portrait lights and the clients are really happy with the images we took.
We volunteered to take portraits for anyone visiting the recent Exhibition in Basingstoke, run by @basingstokecameraclub.

We met the lovely Kim and Malcolm last week to plan the photography of their special day in February. We took some portraits of the lovely couple whilst we were together at the wedding venue
We were invited to a special event with the Royal Engineers at the Guildhall in London. This is a portrait we took of our eldest son
Taken at a National Trust House in May, this couple wanted a themed portrait session in Georgian period costume. We had a lot of fun together.
